(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers within the main London indices on Friday.

----------

FTSE 250 - WINNERS

----------

Rank Group, up 6.5%. The gambling firm raises GBP70 million through a placing and retail offer. Rank notes the 90 pence placing price was a 4.3% premium to its closing price on Thursday.

----------

FTSE 250 - LOSERS

----------

James Fisher & Sons, down 19%. During the third quarter of 2020, the marine services company said it "did not see the improvement to trading conditions". James Fisher was waiting for a "seasonal uplift" during the period and due to it not being forthcoming, revenue for the nine months ended September was down 17% year-on-year.

----------

easyJet, down 5.1%. The budget carrier said it now plans to fly "no more than 20%" of its planned capacity for the first quarter of financial 2021 due to the latest Covid-19 restrictions in the UK, Germany and France. easyJet also announced the sale and leaseback of 11 aircraft, netting the carrier USD169.5 million.

----------

OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - WINNERS

----------

Urban&Civic, up 65%. The property company has agreed a GBP506.0 million takeover by healthcare charity Wellcome Trust. The 345.0 pence per share offer is a 64% premium to Urban's 211.0p closing price on Thursday. The stock was trading at 347.00p on Friday morning.

----------

Mears Group, up 25%. The housing sector services provider has agreed to sell its TerraQuest Solutions unit to funds managed by Apse Capital for up to GBP72.0 million.

----------

Empire Metals, up 21%. The exploration and development company reported on drilling of the Eclipse gold project in Australia. The firm noted mineralisation "remains open at depth" and the results of work at the asset are encouraging.

----------

Gulf Marine Services, up 12%. The UAE-based support vessels provider said its performance in the first nine months of 2020 "remains ahead of the business plan". It reaffirmed guidance of adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation between USD57 million and USD62 million in 2020.

----------

OTHER MAIN MARKET AND AIM - LOSERS

----------

Beowulf Mining, down 14%. The mineral explorer has found "highly anomalous IP chargeability targets" at its Majdan Peak gold target in Kosovo. The company also outlined plans to raise GBP7.3 million through an open offer of up 225.8 million shares at 3.16 pence each. Funds will be used to further its portfolio.
