Rangers confirms in talks to raise 1.5m pound emergency loan

Scottish Football club Rangers confirmed it was in talks with two major shareholders in an effort to raise 1.5m pounds as emergency working capital.The terms have not been finalised, and a further announcement would be made "when appropriate", the Glasgow-based club said in a statement.Rangers raised £22m when it floated in December 2012. However, by June the following year they announced losses £14.4m for the previous 13 months.The STV.TV website reported that the club's Chief Executive Graham Wallace was in talks with Chairman of the football board Sandy Easdale, his brother and director of the plc board James Easdale, and investment management firm Laxey Partners.There had been speculation about the club's finances since former Financial Director Brian Stockbridge claimed the League One leaders would be down to their last £1m by April, STV said.Last month, Wallace asked manager Ally McCoist's squad to take a 15% pay cut, which was refused by the players.Rangers shares were unchanged at 27.5p at 12.02.FP
