Small caps round-up: Brainjuicer, ReNeuron, Hamworthy...

Wed, 08th Jul 2009 10:55

Market researcher BrainJuicer, whose clients include Unilever and Nike, posted revenue growth of about 22% for the first half and said it expects to make further progress in 2009.Stem cell therapy developer ReNeuron said clinical data on its lead CTX neural stem cell line in stroke and neurodegenerative diseases has been published today. The data, which was presented earlier this year at a medical conference, suggests that the CTX cells "may promote regeneration in the ageing brain (where the capacity for neurogenesis has diminished over time) or in situations where the brain has suffered an insult, such as a stroke," a company statement said.LNG engineer Hamworthy is to acquire the business and assets of the Technology & Products division of Aibel, the Norwegian oil services company. The cash consideration for the acquisition will be £3.5m payable upon completion with an additional amount of up to £2.7m. The business had revenues of £13m in 2008.Cash shell Medavinci has placed 421m new ordinary shares of 0.1p to raise approximately £421,540 before expenses. The board is continuing its review of the business but its initial view is that in current market conditions its investment portfolio is of negligible value. The net proceeds will be used to carry out the year end audit and seek a suitable acquisition or investment opportunity.
