(Alliance News) - Shares rose in Rosslyn Data Technologies PLC on Wednesday after being awarded a three-year contract for the implementation and licence of a Langdon Excise system.
Shares in the data analytics platform provider were 8.8% higher at 5.71 pence on Wednesday in London.
The unnamed customer is a UK-based grocery and general merchandise retailer that also operates in Ireland. The Langdon Excise system will allow the client to receive, manage and discharge duty suspended shipments from suppliers under excise movement and control systems.
By value, the contract will not have a large impact on Rosslyn's operations, but it is part of the group strategy to expand the Langdon business in preparation for Brexit.
"This win illustrates the opportunities that have arisen for Langdon Systems as a result of Brexit and our ability, one year after the acquisition of Langdon, to scale up the Langdon business by moving into larger implementations with higher contract values," said Chief Executive Officer Roger Bullen.
