NEW YORK, June 7 (Reuters) - Repairs on Royal Dutch Shell's Forcados export pipeline in Nigeria are still ongoingwhile the oil spill response and recovery are under way, asource close to the operation said on Tuesday.
Repairs are ongoing at the site of the first leak pointwhile preliminary preparations are also under way for temporaryrepairs of the second leak site ahead of the flushing of theline, the source added.
The move comes after the company confirmed signs of a leakin the 48-inch pipeline located between shoreline and theForcados terminal in the western Niger Delta.
In a statement, Shell said it was "unable to determineprobable timing of resumption of exports from the Forcadosterminal" after a reported attack by a local militant group onthe pipeline on Friday. (Reporting by Libby George in London, writing by Catherine Ngaiin New York)
