Oil major Royal Dutch Shell has continued its massive asset disposal programme by selling off a 23 per cent stake in the Parque das Conchas (BC-10) project offshore Brazil for one billion dollars.Shell will retain a 50% working interest in BC-10 as operator and stressed that it will maintain a "significant upstream presence in Brazil" through its other interests. The disposal, part of a wider reduction in assets thought to total $30bn, was made to Qatar Petroleum International and is subject to regulatory approvals.BC-10 now produces around 50,000 barrels oil equivalents per day and has produced over 80m barrels since coming on-stream in 2009.The announcement follows the disposal earlier this month of Shell's interest in Wheatstone liquified natural gas project in Australia for $1.135m.BC
