(Alliance News) - Petropavlovsk PLC on Monday confirmed it is considering a secondary Moscow listing alongside its listing on the London Stock Exchange.
The company was responding to "recent press speculation" around a secondary listing after the Telegraph newspaper reported on the story earlier on Monday morning, citing "Russian sources".
Petropavlovsk, a Russian gold producer with key operating mines in the far eastern Amur region of Russia, said it "has undertaken an analysis of the potential for a secondary listing in Moscow".
At present, the firm is reviewing "the legal and regulatory framework" for a possible secondary listing, but there is "no certainty" it will take place.
"The company actively considers various strategic options to enhance its market profile and shareholder base. The company will update shareholders of any developments in line with market rules," said Petropavlovsk.
Shares in Petropavlovsk were up 2.7% at 17.25 pence in London on Monday afternoon.
