NMCN PLC - Engineering & construction company based in Sutton-In-Ashfield - Continues to trade profitably amid the Covid-19 pandemic, building on an improvement in its earnings for the first quarter of 2020. In the first quarter, revenue was up 3.7% year-on-year to GBP97.9 million with pretax profit up 5.9% to GBP1.8 million. By segment, Built Environment revenue rose by GBP6.8 million year-on-year to GBP31.0 million, generating profit of GBP200,000. The Water business saw revenue fall 4.7% to GBP66.9 million, but profit increase to GBP1.6 million from GBP1.5 million. Turning to current trading, NMCN said it has continued to turn a profit, adding that its secured workload for completion in 2020 stands at GBP314 million. Results for the first half to be published on August 6.
