LONDON (Alliance News) - Specialty pharmaceutical company Midatech Pharma PLC on Monday said it has signed a licence agreement with privately-owned UK biotechnology firm Emergex Vaccines Ltd.
The licence agreement covers the use of Midatech's gold nanoparticle technology by Emergex in developing vaccines. The pair have also agreed a service and manufacturing agreement covering the manufacturing of materials for clinical trials.
No financial details were disclosed, but Midatech will get initial, milestone and royalty payments as part of the agreement.
"This licensing agreement marks another step in Midatech's ambitious growth strategy. Emergex's interest in applying our nanoparticles to its vaccines further validates the broad potential of our technology," said Jim Phillips, Midatech's chief executive.
