LONDON (Alliance News) - Minds + Machines Group Ltd said Monday reported a "successful" launch of its new top-level domain .miami, and launched an early access programme ahead of .law going live.
The .miami top-level domain secured over 8,000 registrations in its first seven days, Minds + Machines said.
Under the early access programme a descending fee, going lower each day, will be charged during the first week of .law's launch in addition to the standard prices for a domain.
"We expect to prove that restricting access to eligible applicants will increase not only demand and price, but also usage and promotion of second-level domains," said Chief Executive Officer Antony Van Couvering in a statement.
Elsewhere, the company said that it expects renewal numbers from its portfolio of 'geo' top level domains, meaning domains connected to locations such as .miami, are expected to "come in significantly ahead of industry norms".
Preliminary results indicate that the renewal rate for .london are over 90%, the company said, compared to an industry form of 50% to 75%.
Shares in Minds + Machines were up 4.9% at 9.57 pence Monday morning.
