Hiscox and Restaurant Group CEOs sell up

Fri, 27th Sep 2013 16:11

Chief Executive at Hiscox, Bronek Masojada, has sold 10,000 shares at 650.50p a piece in the insurance provider. The sale generated £65,050 for Masojada, who joined the company in 1993. For the first half of the year the group posted a pre-tax profit of £180.7m (2012: £125.8m), helped by low exposure to recent catastrophes and fewer attritional losses. Gross premiums written increased by 12.3% (2012: 7.0%), driven by good insurance opportunities in property and small commercial lines. The interim dividend increased by 16.7% to 7.0p from 6.0p a year earlier.Meanwhile, it was announced after Thursday's closing bell that a total of 500,000 shares were sold by Restaurant Group directors this week, with the biggest sale made by Andrew Page, the group's Chief Executive Officer. Page, who has led the FTSE 250-listed company since 2006, pocketed £1.23m after disposing of 230,000 shares at 536.00p each. At the same price, Stephen Critoph, the Group Finance Director, sold 120,000 shares earning £643,200, while Alan Jackson, the group's non-Executive Chairman, sold 150,000 at 538p for a total value of £807,000. Shares in the company have risen around 180p in the year-to-date, helped by strong top-line growth in the first half, up 11.5% to £280m. The company gave an upbeat outlook for the remainder of the year, saying it expects to make "good progress". Top Director BuysMobilityOne Ltd.
