(Alliance News) - Marston's PLC on Monday said it has made two new appointments to the board, as Robin Rowland - who has been with the company for nine years - will step down as a non-executive director with effect from the end of July.
The FSTE 250-listed brewer said Bridget Lea and Octavia Morley will join the board as independent non-executive directors with effect from September and January 2020, respectively.
Lea is currently managing director of North region at grocer J Sainsbury PLC. Previously she worked at mobile provider O2 and retailers Marks & Spencer, Body Shop, Clarks Shoes and Uniglo.
Meanwhile, Morley was a senior executive with a number of retailers including Asda Stores Ltd, Laura Ashley Holdings PLC and Woolworths PLC.
Morley currently serves as executive chair of Spicers-Office Team Group Ltd. She is also senior independent director at Card Factory PLC and a non-executive director of Crest Nicholson Holdings PLC and Ascensos Ltd.

They are extremely high calibre additions to the board and bring with them extensive experience of a wide range of leading consumer retail businesses which is highly relevant to Marston's pub retailing and brewing operations," said Chair William Rucker.

Marston's shares were trading flat on Monday in London at 106.69 pence each.
