Nathan Bostock, seen as a potential successor to chief executive of Stephen Hester at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), is to jump ship to fellow part-nationalised lender Lloyds Banking.Bostock will be leaving his job as Head of Restructuring & Risk at RBS to take up a new role as chief executive officer of Wholesale Banking at Lloyds Bank, though probably not until at least the end of February 2012, thus ensuring an orderly handover of his responsibilities.Hester appointed Bostock, who was chief financial officer at the Abbey bank during Hester's time at the helm, to oversee the detoxification of assets in RBS's non-core division.Press reports suggest that Hester's recent pronouncement that he intended to stay in the chief executive role at RBS for up to eight years may have prompted Bostock's switch to Lloyds, where his expertise in restructuring balance sheets will keep him busy.--jh
