Satellite communications giant Inmarsat is topping the risers after first quarter revenue rose by 15% boosted by payments from its agreement with US telecom group LightSquared. The banking sector is under the weather: Barclays' shares fell after it reported that it is setting aside £1bn to cover the cost of mis-selling of Payment Protection Insurance (PPI); HSBC is unwanted after seeing first quarter profits slide as it faced revenue headwinds in its Global Banking and Markets division; RBS and Lloyds are also lower.Platinum miner Lonmin is higher after saying that it is working to address the situation after six fatalities so far this year. "We have been very disappointed and saddened by the six fatalities we have experienced since the beginning of the 2011 financial year," said chief executive Ian Farmer. Meanwhile, energy group Centrica is the worst performer after it said it expects profits growth in 2011 to be more subdued than previously anticipated due to the new tax regime on UK oil production. Mexican precious metals miner Fresnillo is out of favour after saying the most serious claims for damages made against it by Vancouver-based MAG Silver have been dismissed by an arbitration panel.
