AIM-listed exploration group Leni Gas & Oil said the third of its Goudron development wells in Trinidad, GY-666, was successfully drilled. The well, which is part of the 30-well redevelopment programme, is expected to test the Goudron, Gros Morne and Lower Cruse sandstones, all of which are known to be productive for oil in offset wells. The group reported on June 11th that analysis on its GY-665 well at the Goudron site has indicated the presence of a total of 526 feet of net oil pay. Chief Executive Officer Neil Ritson said: "Reservoir pressures on the south side of the fault between GY-664 and GY-665 are higher and, given the similar quality of net oil pay, this is a very positive sign for the ultimate production potential of the four wells being drilled from the current well pad."As of 13:20 the share price had risen 0.81% to 3.05p.WS
