European Opportunities Trust PLC - managed by Devon Equity Management Ltd and invests in European companies offering capital growth - Net asset value per share 824.29 pence at May-end, up 0.8% from 817.72p a year ago. Says year was "exceptionally challenging" period, noting net asset value per share total return was 1.2%, lagging MSCI Europe Total Return Index which returns 25%. Notes signs of recovery in performance since year end, with net asset value per share rising 15% to 945.74p between start of June and end of August, outperforming benchmark which rises 5.4%. Dividend for year 2.0p, down from 3.5p.
