EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Barclays names investment and consumer bank heads

Wed, 10th Nov 2021 14:39

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Barclays PLC - London-based bank - New Chief Executive CS Venkatakrishnan names Paul Compton as global head of the Corporate & Investment Bank and president of Barclays Bank PLC. Compton, who previously had been global head of Investment Banking and co-president of Barclays Bank, now also will lead Global Markets, Research and Corporate Banking. Before his promotion earlier this month to replace Jes Staley, Venkat had been head of Global Markets and co-president of Barclays Bank. Venkat also names Alistair Currie as global head of Consumer Banking & Payments, having previously been head of Corporate Banking. Meanwhile, Ashok Vaswani is named to the new role of chief digital strategy officer. All three roles report into Venkat. "I consider myself very fortunate to take on my new role with a world-class team alongside me on the group executive committee," Venkat says. "We will work closely together on not only delivering an outstanding product and service set for our customers and clients, but in accelerating our growth and shareholder value."

----------

Titon Holdings PLC - manufacturer of ventilation systems - Mat Norris resigns as CEO to "take up another role". Norris will leave on February 9 next year, having only joined on May 1. "The board of Titon is disappointed with Mat's decision to resign after such a short period at Titon," says Executive Chair Keith Ritchie. He says a search for a new CEO will begin immediately. On December 16, Titon will publish results for the financial year that ended on September 30, and it says they will be in line with its expectations.

----------

Cairn Homes PLC - Dublin-based housebuilder - Hires Orla O'Gorman as independent, non-executive director, effective immediately. O'Gorman was head of Equity at the Irish Stock Exchange and involved in the sale of ISE to Euronext in 2018. The move follows the addition to the board in September of Julie Sinnamon, the former CEO of Enterprise Ireland. Meanwile, Jayne McGivern has stepped down to take an executive role elsewhere, and Andrew Bernhardt will retire at the end of 2021.

----------

Insig AI PLC - London-based machine learning and data science firm serving asset management industry, formerly known as Catena - Hires Colm McVeigh as chief commercial officer and executive director. McVeigh is a former BT Group PLC executive, where he was CCO for BT One Phone, a mobile cloud software-as-a-service joint venture. Prior to his more than 10 years at BT, McVeigh worked for 7 years at Vodafone Group PLC.
