Image Scan Receives GBP800,000 Order For X-Ray System In Asia

Thu, 30th Jun 2016 07:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Supplier of X-ray security screening systems Image Scan Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has received a large order for its portable X-ray system ThreatScan-LS1 from an unnamed government security organisation in Asia.

The value of the contract is over GBP800,000, Image Scan said, noting that the order is the single largest portable X-Ray order it has received and that delivery is due in December. Image Scan said it has received the first stage payment.

ThreatScan-LS1 allows police and military counter terror teams to investigate suspect packages quickly and safely.

The fulfillment of the new order is not expected to impact Image Scan's working capital requirements, the company said, adding that it was performing in line with market expectations before receiving this order.

Given the timing of the receipt of the order, Image Can will issue a statement regarding the potential impact on performance for the financial year to September 30 once supply chain and operational planning for the new order is complete, Image Scan added.

"I am delighted to be able to announce this important new order. This marks a significant milestone in the repositioning of our portable X-ray product range and demonstrates the strength of our international sales and marketing efforts. We are confident that other customers will find the many distinctive features of our new systems attractive," said Chairman and Chief Executive Bill Mawer.

Shares in Image Scan were up 18% at 2.50 pence on Thursday morning.
