LONDON, July 23 (Reuters) - The head of HSBC's Britishbusiness, Antonio Simoes, will chair the independent panel thatrepresents the banking industry on rule-making and otherregulatory issues, Britain's financial regulator said onThursday.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced that Simoes will become chair of its practitioner panel from the start ofAugust.
Simoes has been a member of the panel for two years andsucceeds Alison Brittain, the former head of retail at LloydsBanking Group, who has left the bank to become CEO ofWhitbread. (Reporting by Steve Slater; Editing by David Goodman)
