Helical PLC - London-based property investor - On Thursday announces it converts to a real estate investment trust as of April 1, exempting it from UK corporation tax on future profit within the REIT structure. Says dividends from December of this year will be paid as a "property income distribution" from the REIT profits, and a second payout from the non-REIT business.

IN BRIEF: Helical completes on London office buy; non-exec buys shares

Helical PLC - London-based property investor - Completes the acquisition of 100 New Bridge Street near Blackfriars station in central London, paying GBP160 million in cash. The 167,026 square foot office building has ground floor retail units. It is let to law firm Baker McKenzie. The lease expires at the end of 2023, and then Helical plans a major refurbishment.

Helical PLC - London-based property investor - Chair Richard Grant will leave the board at Helical's annual general meeting in July. Promotes Senior Independent Director Richard Cotton to chair to replace Grant. Cotton joined the board in 2016 and was named senior independent director in 2018. Last month, Helical said it plans to convert into a real estate investment trust, effective from April 1.
