Nighthawk names Gutteridge non-exec chairman

Nighthawk Energy announced its latest addition to the US focused oil development and production firm with the appointment of Stephen Gutteridge as non-executive chairman.Gutteridge, who has over 30 years working in the oil and energy industries, starts with immediate effect. He has previously worked for Shell Marketing and Trading, the International Petroleum Exchange and Amerada Hess Corporation and was also chairman of Star Energy.Gutteridge is also Nighthawk's third management appointment in four months. Richard Swindells was named chief financial officer in May and Charles "Chuck" Wilson was appointed chief operating officer in July.Mike Thomsen, the group's current executive chairman, will stay on the board in his capacity as president of US operations. Commenting on the latest appointment chief executive Tim Heeley said, "Following our strategic review we have now put in place a platform from which we can move forward to deliver the substantial potential that we believe we have in the Jolly Ranch project. We are already focused on the next steps in achieving that."---CJ
