Golden Saint Recovers Three Diamonds At Baja Licence In Sierra Leone

Wed, 16th Nov 2016 10:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Golden Saint Resources Ltd on Wednesday said it has recovered 1.69 carats of rough diamonds from the initial gravel wash at the Baja licence in Sierra Leone, while the dewatering operation has been completed at the Tongo licence.

The West African-focused diamond and gold exploration company said the 1.69 carats comprise three diamonds, recovered in an initial wash of 6 tonnes of gravel at Baja. It has now identified the next prospective sites from which gravels will be extracted and washed.

Meanwhile at Tongo, following a breakage of the shaft connected to the centrifugal pump during the dewatering operation at the alluvial pit, repairs were carried out satisfactorily and dewatering was completed on Monday. The excavator was also mobilised to the site to commence gravel extraction, which is expected to take around two weeks.

Golden Saint added that the site visit by Rock Forage Consulting Services and key individuals from Golden Saint's management team will commence on December 1. The visit will allow the company's technical consultants to closely examine the production data, giving a better assessment of the potential diamond and gold recoveries at both Baja and Tongo.

Shares in Golden Saint were trading up 1.2% at 0.043 pence on Wednesday morning.
