LONDON (Alliance News) - Golden Saint Resources PLC said Thursday that a sampling programme at its Tongo licence in eastern Sierra Leone has produced several "samples of interest for diamond exploration."
A follow up microprobe analysis of the morphologically anomalous samples supports this suggestion, the company said.
Recently appointed technical advisor Wardell Armstrong International is currently reviewing Golden Saint's licenses, and compiling all results to date. Golden Saint said Wardell think that, should there be any diamondiferous kimberlite bodies in the Tongo licence, they are likely to be narrow kimberlite dykes similar to those found on adjacent properties to the west and north of Tongo.
The company said that following its initial studies, an on-going work programme for the northern portion of the Tongo licence has been developed. This will proceed despite the current Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, the company said, and it will take "all the necessary precautions" to mitigate and health and safety risk to its work force.
Shares in Golden Saint were trading up 1.1% at 2.25 pence Thursday afternoon.
