Thu, 29th Oct 2015 09:30

LONDON (Alliance News) - African low-cost airline fastjet PLC on Thursday said its Zimbabwe service has completed its first flight, between Harare and Victoria Falls.

The flight, which happened on Wednesday, marks the launch of fastjet's service in Zimbabwe and its expansion to a second market in Africa, having previously been operating in Tanzania.

"Today is a momentous day for fastjet as we launch fastjet Zimbabwe, our second low-cost airline in Africa, allowing even more people to enjoy safe, reliable, convenient and affordably priced air travel," said Chief Executive Ed Winter.

Shares in fastjet were down 2.2% to 79.20 pence on Thursday.
