FTSE 250 movers: Aston Martin ascends, Coats stumbles

Fri, 22nd Nov 2019 12:27

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 250 was higher by 0.63% at 20,498.29 in afternoon trade on Friday, with shares of Aston Martin Lagonda pushing the index lower.
Euromoney Institutional Investor climbed for a second consecutive day after on Thursday posting a rise in full-year profit and revenue as a solid performance from its pricing, data and market intelligence products offset a weaker showing from its asset management business.

Offshore exploration firm Energean Oil & Gas was in the green after it inked a gas sales and purchase agreement for the sale of approximately 0.5bn cubic metres of natural gas per year on Thursday.

Down at the other end of the index, Coats Group was sharply lower after the industrial thread maker said that revenues over the four months to the end of October slowed.

Analysts from Peel Hunt said: "We assume that the slower growth performance continues and reduce our forecasts by 3% for the current year and 6% for next year. Clearly the background market has slowed through the year, however EBIT is still expected to show a marginal improvement on prior year."

Hochschild Mining dropped as it cut 2020 production forecasts for its Pallancata operation due to permit issues, though the gold miner said it was "firmly" on track to meet overall 2019 output guidance.

Playtech fell as the gambling software development company issued a profit warning as it highlighted "challenging" conditions in its financial trading division, TradeTech.
