The European mineral exploration company has commenced a 20 line kilometre electro-magnetic ground geophysical survey over mineralised zone identified by the 2017 Phase 1 drilling at Karingberget project. The survey is designed to identify conductors at depth and along strike from the mineralisation drilled in 2017, with the aim of better defining targets for Phase 2 drilling at Karingberget project, Erris said. The company expects to commence Phase 2 drilling of 2000 meters at Karingberget during the second quarter of 2018.
"The data from this EM [Electro-Magnetic] survey will be combined with till geochemical results to allow the final selection of drill targets for the programme in Q2 [second quarter]," Erris Chief Executive Merlin Marr-Johnson said.
Erris Resources' drilling in 2017 intersected zones of strong sulphide mineralisation, locally massive, dipping shallowly to the northeast. In addition, a 73 line kilometre ground magnetic survey completed in early 2018 highlighted geophysical anomalies potentially associated with the presence of pyrrhotite or magnetite, in zones related to the mineralisation drilled last year.
The electro-magnetic survey is expected to take one week to complete. It is being carried out by GRM, a Finnish contractor.
