Fri, 30th Sep 2022 11:06

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

abrdn Property Income Trust Ltd, up 5.2% at 63.2 pence, 12-month range 54.1p-90p. The commercial property investor reported strong interim results, with net asset value per share rising to 110.7p at June 30, from 101.0p at Dec 31. Boasts a 12% NAV return in the first half, compared to a return of minus 19% from the FTSE All-Share Real Estate Investment Trusts Index. Fellow smallcap property investors Regional REIT Ltd and Picton Property Income Ltd were trading 8.3% and 7.6% higher respectively.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Dignity PLC, down 8.3% at 362.5p, 12-month range 334.5p-777.4p. In the 26 weeks to July 1, the funeral services swings to loss of GBP156.0 million from profit of GBP50.5 million a year before. Revenue drops 12% to GBP166.9 million from GBP189.0 million. The firm saw a GBP62.9 million impairment on non-current assets, which was due to "slower funeral market share growth combined with more branch direct cremations rather than full adult funerals being performed than originally anticipated". Refrains from giving guidance, citing the "unpredictability" of the death rate, as well as regulatory changes, strategy implementation and its new funeral plan proposition.

----------

Honeycomb Investment Trust PLC, down 2.0% at 780p, 12-month range 780-995p. The stock hits a 12-month low as the London-based investor completes its share combination with Pollen Street Capital Holdings Ltd. "Since we announced the initial agreement in February, the rationale for the combination has only been reinforced, as we've seen Pollen Street grow and deliver returns in the face of uncertain market conditions. Completion of the combination allows us to accelerate that growth and unlock significant value for shareholders through a compelling model of income and growth," says Chair Robert Sharpe.
