Richard Upton, an executive director of Development Securities, has purchased 72,450 shares, taking his stake in the company to just under 2.7m shares.The shares were acquired at 205p each, with Upton spending a total of £148,523. The purchase price reflects the 22% decline seen in the stock price since the beginning of the year. For the year ended 28 February, the group posted a £18.7m jump in profit to £19.5m. In a statement released mid-July, the company said it had significantly strengthened its pipeline and resources. "With additional projects added to our portfolio and an expanded team of experienced developers, the acquisition has set a strong platform for future growth and we are confident in our ability to deliver enhanced shareholder returns," a statement from the company read.
