(Alliance News) - Direct Line Insurance Group PLC on Thursday said it has appointed current Non-Executive Director Danuta Gray as its new chair, effective from August 4.
The FTSE 250-listed home and motor insurer said Gray will take over from Mike Biggs whose resignation was announced in March.
Gray is currently chair at property investment & development company St. Modwen Properties PLC and senior independent director of lender & savings bank Aldermore Group PLC. She was previously a non-executive director of financial services company Old Mutual Group PLC, and recruitment firm PageGroup PLC. She has been a member of Direct Line's board since March 2018.
"I am very pleased that my colleagues on the DLG board have chosen Danuta to succeed me. She has all of the skills and experience to preserve and develop the enviable culture of the group and the board," Biggs said.
Shares in Direct Line were trading 3.6% lower at 260.10 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
