Digital Barriers secures major Asia Pacific contracts

Mon, 21st Sep 2015 10:09

(ShareCast News) - Digital Barriers secured four strategically important contract awards in the Asia Pacific region. The surveillance technologies company announced the deals on Monday, which are worth a combined initial value of £2.4m.The biggest contract was for the group's ThruVision people screening technology for border security and counter-terrorism applications. It was sold to an unnamed major government agency for £1.6m.The company also sold its Integrated Surveillance Platform solution to a flagship government defence agency for £0.3mThe programme provides real-time video surveillance and intrusion alerts for remote and inaccessible locations. On top of that, Digital Barriers was also awarded two TVI video surveillance contracts with major law enforcement agencies, totalling approximately £0.5m.All four contracts are expected to deliver multi-year revenues, following from their respective initial phases.Digital Barriers chief executive Zak Doffman said each contract is strategically important for the company and represents more progress in a key region where revenues doubled in the last last financial year."The ThruVision contract is the largest single purchase order in the history of that technology, but more importantly it is the initial award under a proposed multi-year OEM framework agreement and is with a significant government agency in the region," he said."The award of a multi-year ISP programme to secure one of the highest profile borders in the region follows more than two years of business development and demonstrates that, despite a protracted sales cycle in this industry, we are now in position to secure material programme awards with government agencies around the world.Doffman said the contracts underpin the company's confidence in delivering a strong full year performance.
