Directors dealings: Jimmy Choo boss picks up more stock

Tue, 30th Aug 2016 16:24

(ShareCast News) - Jimmy Choo boss Pierre Denis added to his stake in the luxury shoe and fashion accessories-manufacturer after excercising an option worth a total nominal consideration of £1.0m.Dennis excercised options over 439,801 shares of 100p each, while simultaneously selling 206,740 shares at an average price of 123.2p to cover the associated tax and national insurance liability which arose as a result. The transaction increased his holdings in the company by 233,061 shares to 3,004,489, representing 0.8% of the company´s equity. On 25 August, the firm reported a 9.2% jump in first half 2016 revenues to reach £173.1m, which catapulted its operating profits 42.6% higher to £25.3m.Shares in the company had been in a rising trend since plumbing a 52 week-low just below 93p on 14 June.On 17 August, analysts at RBC pointed out how shares in the luxury goods-maker had de-rated by 25% year-to-date and were changing hands at a 2017 price-to-earnings multiple of 15, for a 30% discount versus its sector, "despite broadly similar sales and earnings per share growth"."We believe CHOO is well positioned to deliver robust 1H16 results (25 August) which could start a re-rating cycle owing to GBP tailwind and improving investor sentiment," they said.
