(Sharecast News) - Video game developer and publisher Codemasters released the latest edition of its well-regarded racing series GRID on Friday.
GRID recently won "Best Racing Game" at the GamesCom awards, having previously picked-up the same award at E3, the world's premier event for computer and video games, from Game Informer and DualShockers.

The AIM-listed firm's new title has been made available for PlayStation4, the Xbox One family of devices and Windows PC. It will also be released on Google's cloud gaming service Stadia, which features GRID as a launch title - something Codemasters said demonstrated its flexibility across platforms and its reputation within the racing category.

Chief executive Frank Sagnier said: "GRID has already received widespread industry acclaim in the run-up to its release, in keeping with our reputation of producing the highest quality, AAA-rated racing games.

"We are incredibly proud of the game we have created and are thrilled that it is finally available to players around the world."

As of 0900 BST, Codemasters shares had inched up 0.35% to 213.75p.
