(Sharecast News) - Communications company CloudCall announced the immediate appointment of Paul Clark as its chief technology officer on Thursday.
The AIM-traded firm described Clark as a "highly capable" technical and product leader, with more than 20 years of experience.

He was joining CloudCall on 16 March from Tandem Bank, where he was currently their CTO, responsible for technology strategy, architecture, engineering and delivery operations.

It said his successes at Tandem included the implementation of new tools to "better manage and analyse" vast amounts of data, which in turn generated greater customer insight to drive communication and engagement.

Clark also reportedly "significantly" improved the use of automation and self-service capability for Tandem, both of which were said to be key to CloudCall's product roadmap.

Prior to Tandem, he held senior technical leadership roles at a number of brands, including HSBC, ITV, BBC and Channel 4.

Clark would report directly to chief executive officer Simon Cleaver as a member of the executive committee, rather than being a full member of the board.

"Paul's appointment as CTO is another important milestone in our plans to deliver significant scale and growth for CloudCall, demonstrating our continued investment into the business," said chief technology officer Simon Cleaver.

"His appointment ensures we have industry leading technical management for our product and development teams, and his impressive background and track record of success leading technical projects at well-known global brands showcases Paul's unique skill set.

"The board and I look forward to working with him to drive our product and service capabilities through to the next level."

Paul Clark himself said that, at a time when businesses and employees were looking for "the very best" digital tools available in the workplace, he was "excited" to help drive CloudCall's strategy ahead.

At 1420 GMT, shares in CloudCall Group were down 6.36% at 77.25p.
