May 31 (Reuters) - A small fire was quickly extinguished onTuesday afternoon at BP Plc's 225,000 barrels per dayCherry Point, Washington, refinery, said a BP spokesman.
No injuries were reported from the fire in a process unit,said BP spokesman Michael Abendhoff. He did not have informationimmediately available about which units were affected.
"The rest of the refinery is running normally," Abendhoffsaid.
The blaze was put out by refinery personnel and assistancefrom the local fire department was not required, said JohnGargett, deputy director of the sheriff's office.
"It was over almost as soon as it started," Gargett said.
The fire was reported at 1:50 p.m. PDT (2050 GMT), he said.
