HOUSTON, Aug 5 (Reuters) - BP Plc plans to return acatalytic reformer and the blending oil unit to production nextweek at its 413,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana, refinery, sources familiar with the plant's operations said onFriday.
A BP spokesman declined on Friday to discuss production atthe Whiting refinery.
BP was continuing the restart of the 60,000 bpd reformer andblending oil unit, the sources said.
Primarily due to the outage of the reformer and blending oilunit, but also in part because of a wastewater treatment plantmalfunction, BP has cut the Whiting refinery's production tobetween 75 percent and 80 percent of capacity.
Wastewater sediment discharges from the refinery into LakeMichigan continued to be under permitted levels for a second dayon Friday, the sources said.
