HOUSTON, May 7 (Reuters) - BP Plc's joint-venture135,000 barrel per day (bpd) Toledo, Ohio refinery wasrestarting a 40,000 bpd crude distillation unit on Wednesday asit completes a six-week overhaul at the plant, said sourcesfamiliar with refinery operations.
Energy industry intellingence service Genscape Inc. hadreported that the crude unit, which is the smaller of two at therefinery, was preparing to restart on Wednesday morning.
A refinery spokesman declined to discuss operations at theplant.
The Toledo refinery is a joint-venture between BP and HuskyEnergy Inc..
The 40,000 bpd CDU also contains a vacuum distillationsection.
The CDUs do the initial refining of crude oil coming intothe refinery and provide feedstocks for all other productionunits. A vacuum distillation unit takes residual crude from theCDU and refines it in a vacuum, boosting the yield of feedstockfor motor fuel and other refined product manufacturing.
