NEW YORK, June 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. cash crude gradeThunder Horse
Traders and brokers said they had not seen any trades forthe Thunder Horse grade in weeks before Tuesday's trade for Julybarrels at $6.25 over the benchmark U.S. crude futures.
Thunder Horse crude for July was bid at $5.75 over thebenchmark on Wednesday, with offers from sellers at $6.30 over,traders said.
In early May, Plains Exploration & Production CEOJim Flores said Plains had been notified by BP Plc thatits gas processing plant in Pascagoula, Mississippi, would beshut for work beginning on May 3.
Flores said that the gas processing plant work would shutthe Thunder Horse platform, which produces 250,000 barrels perday (bpd) of oil and 200 million cubic feet per day of naturalgas, as well as other Gulf of Mexico oil and gas production.
A BP spokesman on Wednesday said the company would notcomment on day-to-day operations.
In a discussion of first-quarter earnings on its website, BP said, "Reported production in the second quarter is expected tobe lower as a result of planned seasonal turnaround activityconcentrated on higher-margin assets in the Gulf of Mexico andthe North Sea, together with the ongoing impact of divestments."
