Refinery Status: Conoco's Washington State Plant Operating After Pump Fire

The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list. ConocoPhillips'(COP) refinery in Ferndale, Washington, continues to operate following a pump fire on Tuesday. No further details of the incident were provided. Chevron Corp.(CVX) said Tuesday that 500 barrels of crude oil have been recovered after a Salt Lake City pipeline leaked an estimated 800 barrels over the weekend. The 15,000-barrel-a-day pipeline supplies refineries in the area but Chevron said operations at its area plant were not impacted. Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM) refinery in Torrance, Calif., is operating normally following mechanical problems at an unidentified unit, a company spokeswoman said Monday. Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ) on Monday reported flaring related to a compressor problem at its Big Spring, Texas, refinery, according to a filing with state environmental regulators. The equipment was replaced as soon as possible. Firefighters safely extinguished a blaze after lightning struck a gasoline storage tank owned by Colonial Pipeline Co. in North Carolina early Sunday morning before it could spread, according to a company statement. The 43,000-barrel tank was half full. The company does not expec tthe incident to disrupt fuel supplies in Greensboro or other areas. Tesoro Corp.'s (TSO) refinery in Anacortes, Wash., will remain shut at least until September, a company spokesman said Friday. The naphtha heat exchanger, where the explosion took place, has been dismantled and sent to a Cleveland lab for testing.
