WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said tax breaks that BP might claim against its costs for cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill didn't come up in Wednesday's meeting at the White House. Holder, who attended the meeting, said "he hadn't heard" discussion of BP possibly deducting from its tax bill escrow payments to a proposed $20 billion cleanup fund. Holder was asked about the tax breaks at a press conference Thursday touting results from a multiagency mortgage sweep. -By Jessica Holzer, Dow Jones Newswires; 202-862-9228; jessica.holzer@dowjones.com (END) Dow Jones Newswires June 17, 2010 14:21 ET (18:21 GMT)
