UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: Babcock Adds Former MI5 Chief To Board

Tue, 10th Nov 2020 13:48

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Babcock International Group PLC - London-based aerospace and defence - Appoints Andrew Parker as independent non-executive director, joining the board immediately. Parker is the former director general of UK national security agency MI5, from 2013 until earlier this year. Meanwhile, David Omand will step down from the board after 11 years at the end of the current financial year in March.

----------

City Pub Group PLC London-based pub owner and operator - Hires Toby Smith into the new role of chief operating officer, from Tuesday. Smith was the chief executive officer of Stonegate Pub Co. At the same time, Alex Derrick, joint managing director, will leave the company, "in light of the current trading conditions" for UK pubs, which are currently shut for a second lockdown of 2020. "The challenges of COVID will also bring opportunity, and we are seeking to position ourselves to take advantage of opportunities which undoubtedly will arise," remarks Executive Chair Clive Watson. "The pub estate has been locked down far more effectively than the first time. All retail staff and a large number of head office staff are now on furlough."

----------

IronRidge Resources Ltd - Africa-focused minerals explorer with assets in Ghana, Chad, Gabon and Ivory Coast - Priy Jayasuriya resigns as chief financial officer "by mutual agreement", effective immediately. Appoints Karl Schlobohm as interim CFO while a search for a permanent replacement is conducted. Schlobohm is IronRidge's company secretary and has acted as its CFO in the past.

----------

SolGold PLC - mineral exploration in Ecuador - Jayasuriya also departs as CFO of SolGold, which appoints Ingo Hofmaier as interim CFO. Hofmaier has been executive general manager for Project & Corporate Finance for SolGold since September of last year.

----------

Beowulf Mining PLC - Kallak iron ore project in Sweden - Goran Farm steps down as non-executive chair on Tuesday, having been in post for three years. Farm is replaced as chair by Sven Littorin, a former minister for Employment in the Swedish government.

----------

DeepVerge PLC - Dublin-based skin product testing firm formerly known as Integumen - Adds Nigel Burton to board following takeover of Modern Water PLC. Burton was a non-executive director of Modern Water, and his executive career included investment banking roles at UBS Warburg and Deutsche Bank AG.
