BlackRock Emerging Europe Net Asset Value Outperforms Benchmark

LONDON (Alliance News) - BlackRock Emerging Europe PLC on Friday said it outperformed its benchmark in the financial year that ended in January.

The investment trust company said net asset value per share was 574.75 US cents on January 31, up 35% from 431.28 cents a year before, while its share price was 549.64 cents at year-end, up 48% from 378.06 cents a year before.

In sterling terms, NAV per share was 404.16 pence, up 20% from 342.80p a year prior. The company's share price was 386.50 pence at year-end, up 31% from 300.50p on the same date a year before.

By comparison, the trust's benchmark, the MSCI Emerging Europe 10-40 Index, rose 30% in dollar terms and 15% in sterling terms.

The company declared a final dividend of 15.00 cents per share, doubled from 7.50 cents previously.

Shares in BlackRock Emerging Europe were 2.1% down at 347.00 pence on Friday afternoon.
