Barclays will take centre stage on Thursday as it reports its third quarter interims. The UK bank may report an adjusted £1.08mbn pre-tax profit, down from the previous year's £1.65bn, reflecting lower investment banking revenues, according to forecasts by Numis. The group's results come after it passed European stress tests on its capital levels. However, the Bank of England (BoE) is expected to impose a tougher leverage ratio, the broadest of capital requirements. The BoE will publish on Friday the outcome of a public consultation by its Financial Policy Committee on the UK version of a globally-agreed leverage ratio.Barclays on Tuesday noted a previous statement where it said it expects its leverage ratio to rise to at least 4% by 2016.Turning to Thursday's results, Numis said: "We expect attention will be on: (i) gross leverage, which improved to 3.4% at H1; (ii) Operating expense progression where management is guiding to £17bn for 2014; and (iii) Impairment guidance for 2014/15. We forecast statutory pre-tax profit of £779m, struck after a £400m loss on disposal (further £100m to come in Q4) of Barclays Bank SAU (Spain) to CaixaBank."The disposal will reduce TNAV by around 4p per share and increase CET 1 by 0.12%. The loss will be offset by a £119m gain on sale of the UAE business to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank."Other companies out with results include Smith & Nephew, St. James's Place, Afren, BT Group and Aviva. In macro-economic events, data on UK house prices, US gross domestic product figures and German inflation will be released.Thursday 30 OctoberINTERIMSBT GroupINTERIM DIVIDEND PAYMENT DATEEssentra, Partnership Assurance Group, Sprue Aegis, TT ElectronicsINTERIM EX-DIVIDEND DATEBooker Group, Development Securities, Games Workshop Group, Hansa Trust, Hilton Food Group, ITV, Lombard Risk Management, Lookers, M&C Saatchi, Moss Bros Group, ProVen Growth & Income VCT, ProVen VCT, Provident Financial, SQN Asset Finance Income Fund Limited, TescoINTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC ANNOUNCEMENTSBusiness Climate Indicator (EU) (10:00)Continuing Claims (US) (12:30)Economic Sentiment Indicator (EU) (10:00)GDP (Advance) (US) (12:30)Initial Jobless Claims (US) (12:30)Unemployment Rate (GER) (08:55)Speech US Fed chair Janet YellenConsumer price index (GER)Q2BT GroupQ3Eurasia Drilling Co Ltd GDR (Reg S), First Quantum Minerals Ltd., Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, OJSC Megafon GDR (Reg S), Royal Dutch Shell 'A', Royal Dutch Shell 'B', Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (ATT) GDR (Reg S), Smith & Nephew, X5 Retail Group NV GDR (Reg S)GMSAFC EnergyANNUAL REPORTPure WaferIMSSAfren, Aviva, Barclays, Countrywide, Henderson Group, Kazakhmys, RPS Group, Cairn Energy, Genel Energy, St.James's PlaceDRILLING REPORTKazakhmysEGMSDatang International Power Generation Co Ltd.AGMSAshmore Group, Clinigen Group, Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Ltd Ptg NPV, MNC Strategic Investments, Pacific Horizon Inv Trust, ReddeFINAL DIVIDEND PAYMENT DATEProduce InvestmentsFINAL EX-DIVIDEND DATEAIREA, Barratt Developments, BlackRock Greater Europe Inv Trust, El Oro Ltd, Go-Ahead Group, NWF Group, Sabien Technology GroupUK ECONOMIC ANNOUNCEMENTSNationwide House Price Index (07:00)
