UK small caps close 0.6 percent higher, compared to a 1 percent gainon the broad AIM index and a rise of 1.4 percent on mid-caps.
AIM-listed environmental science and technology company Accsys adds7.6 percent after reporting a rise in revenues and smaller after tax loss forthe 12 months to end-March, alongside strong progress in the first quarter ofthe current financial year.
"Having already proved that it is an industry leader, Accsys is now makingreal progress at turning itself into a profitable, cash-generative entity withstrong commercial partners. We continue to rate the stock a Buy ahead of furtherannouncements likely this year," analysts at Peel Hunt write in a note.
Aquarius Platinum gains 6.3 percent after saying it has extended itsKroondal PSA arrangement with Anglo American Platinum, increasing the mine'slife by approximately three years.
Analysts at Liberum Capital say this is "a solid deal for AQP" and "the costof mine extension looks acceptable at first glance".
