UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: Impax AM's Long-Serving Chair Retires

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Impax Asset Management Group PLC - investor focused on transition to sustainable economy - Keith Falconer retires as chair on Tuesday, having been in post since 2004. Non-Executive Director Sally Bridgeland promoted to chair, having been on the board since 2015. Also appoints Simon O'Regan as non-executive director. O'Regan was chief executive officer of asset manager Mercer's US business before his retirement in 2017.

Tesco PLC - Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire-based supermarket chain - Hires Karen Whitworth as non-executive director, starting June 18, 2021. Whitworth currently is non-executive director of Pets at Home Group PLC, Rank Group PLC and Tritax Big Box REIT PLC. As an executive, she was director of Non-Food Grocery and New Business at rival grocer J Sainsbury PLC. Separately, pet supplies retailer Pets at Home said Whitworth will step down from its board on May 20 to take up the new role at Tesco. Pets at Home said it has started a search for a new non-executive director.

Rank Group PLC - Maidenhead, Berkshire-based casino operator - Tang Hong Cheong to retire from board at date to be confirmed, having served two years.

Marks & Spencer Group PLC - London-based food, clothing and homewares retailer - Hires Evelyn Bourke as non-executive director, starting February 1. Bourke is scheduled to retire as CEO of Bupa Group at the end of 2020. She remains a non-executive director of Bank of Ireland Group PLC.

C4X Discovery Holdings PLC - Manchester-based developer of drug discovery engine - Notes that C4X CEO Clive Dix has been made interim chair of the UK Vaccine Taskforce, which was set up by the UK government to find and make a Covid-19 vaccine. Says UK government will set out arrangements for the long-term leadership of the taskforce shortly, and the appointment won't affect Dix's day-to-day work for C4X.

i3 Energy PLC - oil & gas company with assets and operations in the UK and Canada - John Festival joins board of directors, effective immediately, following regulatory due diligence.

Amiad Water Systems Ltd - Israel-based water treatment and filtration systems - Hires Relly Shimko as chief financial officer, a non-board position, effective immediately. Shimko was CFO of Gadot Chemical Tankers & Terminals Ltd, part of the Gadot group. Shimko replaces Avishay Afriat, who Amiad said back in October was stepping down at the end of the year.

San Leon Energy PLC - oil and gas production in Nigeria - Linda Beal steps down as non-executive director, effective immediately. Says search for new non-executive director is "well underway" and expects process to be completed in early 2021.

ASA International Group PLC - Amsterdam-based provider of microfinance - Hires Salehuddin Ahmed as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately. Ahmed was governor of the Bangladesh Bank, the central bank, from 2005 and 2009. He currently is a professor at the Graduate School of Management at BRAC University in Dhaka. He also is an independent director of Grameenphone Ltd, the largest mobile telecommunications operator in Bangladesh.

Alba Mineral Resources PLC - graphite and gold projects in Greenland, Wales and Ireland and oil projects in England - Hires Elizabeth Henson and Lars Brunner as non-executive directors, effective immediately. Henson was a senior international tax partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She was the founder of PwC UK's International Wealth business. Brunner is an environmental consultant who was Arctic Mining & Environment, Business Development Leader for Golder Associates AS, a mining and environmental consultancy firm. Manuel Lamboley steps down from the board to take on a consultancy role for Alba, focused on access to European markets and joint venture partners.
