Customers wishing to call a different network or landline from a mobile phone will be able to do so at a fraction of the current price, but not until 2017.On Tuesday, Ofcom said networks will be allowed to charge customers no more than 0.475p per minute for a so-called termination fee - the charge mobile phone operators bill each other for connecting calls between different networks - compared with the current rate of 0.826p.Landline calls to mobile phones are also subject to termination charges, which are charged by the receiving network.Termination fees were as set by networks as high as 25p per minute two decades ago but have seen a sharp decline, as improving technology has driven the costs lower.
