Jeremy McManus, General Manager at Neometals (NMT), presented at the focusIR/London South East October Natural Resources webinar on Tuesday 3rd October 2023.

Neometals are currently building a recycling plant for Mercedes-Benz in Germany which will use the Neometals proprietary recycling technology as apart of a JV with SMS. This 'plant build and royalty' model allows Mercedes, a Tier One OEM, to keep the recycled nickel, cobalt and lithium for reuse in their own manufacturing processes.

The hope is that as Mercedes build more electric vehicles, their need to recycle batteries also grows and Primobious, the JV partnership, can forge a successful supplier relationship with Mercedes into the future.

The Company has developed a suite of battery metals processing technologies that reduce reliance on traditional mining and processing. Neometals currently has three battery materials JV’s, all commercialising proprietary, low-cost, low-carbon process technologies in incorporated joint ventures with a clear pathway to profitability.
