In an in-depth interview with London South East, new Ascent Resources CEO John Buggenhagen talks through his fresh approach to the old problems inherent in developing the Petsovci gas field. John and his team have been busy interpreting 3D seismic data for not just the current wells but the adjacent areas also included in the licence.

With a wider focus he hopes they can make significant gas discoveries. A plan for the extraction of which will be released in a Field Development Plan at the end of the year or the start of 2020.

John has an oil and gas background, holds a PHd in Geophysics, and has spent 15 years working in Eastern Europe. He is working in conjunction with new Chairman Louis Castro, an AIM market veteran. They want to take a fresh, more holistic approach, rebuild relationships in Slovenia and not get hung up on permitting issues.

By exploring for gas across the entire licence they hope to discover viable gas finds which are recoverable without the need for stimulation and don't require a permit.
