What a difference a day makes

Well, what an interesting last weekend I had. I attended the wedding of Sinead and Darren in Ballachulish – okay, get your maps out and see what a remote little place Ballachulish is. I drove from Glasgow, up by Loch Lomond through the Cairngorms. You would not believe the weather; torrential rain and high winds (to the extent that trees had blown over on to the road). What an unforgiving place the Cairngorms can be; rugged mountains, rain was lashing down, those poor walkers and climbers were in an awful state, many right at the start of their journey. I saw Mountain Rescue and dreaded to think of either someone stuck out there or even those poor volunteers training. I had a really enjoyable time, Sinead looked gorgeous and Darren just looked so happy. My journey home the next day; the sun was out early morning, the sky was blue and the only clouds to be seen where white and fluffy. The waters were so still and an amazing colour, the hills were full of greenery and it was the most amazing views as I travelled through the Cairngorms. We stopped on our journey to take photos and take in the scenery. It’s amazing the difference that a day makes; it doesn’t matter if that applies to the highlands of Scotland or the stock markets. There have been days that I have been riding high, my portfolio in its best position ever - only to see 10-15% wiped off the next day and thousands of pounds gone in a flash. There have been days that I have been feeling despair as a share has crashed, Tower Resources being a prime example (TIDM code: TRP), only for a share to multi-bag the next day like Pinnacle Telecom (TIDM code: PINN). It is worth bearing this in mind. It doesn’t matter if you are riding high or struggling, that is the amazing thing about the stock market…what a difference a day can make.
