Could not agree more with you. Like you bought at the ipo at £1 , soon after went to £1.25 but did not sell because my financial adviser at the time advised not to, and since then i am looking at a 20% loss and i fear it could go so much lower. The fund is sitting on so many loss making positions (RM2, PURP ). I am very disappointed .
Wished I’d never come near this trust-bought in on IPO and apart from a short period initially have sitting on a paper loss ever since, year after year. Woodford has made many, many mistakes over the last few years but buying this was mine.
Great time to increase holding as newsflow from now on will mostly be share enhancing, can see this getting to £1.20 on relatively little news, as sentiment improves and NAV rises steeply, who knows where it will go. Patience is a virtue particularly true with Woodford.
Could not agree more with you. He could and should have come out of PURP long time ago , albeit with a much smaller loss than he is carrying now. Greed on a colossal scale on his part. He just paid himself ten of millions of £ for what !!!
How many mistakes can this share make. We all know 1 or 2 big winners is what they need but so many losses not on. Bit like an amateur on a bad run. Not good enough.
In a year's time this drug share price should at least triplicate - hoping nothing untoward spoils it.
LONDON (Alliance News) - Woodford Patient Capital Trust PLC on Monday said its portfolio company Evofem Inc reported positive results from the phase 3 clinical trial of contraceptive Amphora.
As of the end of October, Evofem represented a 0.4% position in Woodford Patient Capital Trust's portfolio.
The trust said the prevention of pregnancy drug Amphora successfully met its primary endpoint. Evofem believes that Amphora will now enable health care providers to offer patients an effective birth control method that is "non-hormonal, on-demand, and woman-controlled".
The efficacy, safety and subject satisfaction with Amphora was assessed in 1,400 healthy women aged between 18 and 35 years at 112 centres in the US. The study demonstrated that when Amphora is used as directed, the efficacy in which women can have confidence is similar to other frequently used contraceptive methods.
Biotechnology company Evofem intends to submit the Amphora new drug application to the US Food & Drug Administration in the second quarter of 2019. If approved, it plans to commercialise this birth control treatment in January 2020.
Patience is a virtue, but money can still be made if you await a large discount to NAV (13%), it always comes back to about 7%. In the meantime if one or two of his investments like Fed Wireless, HVO etc. comes good, you have a double whammy of the NAV increasing and the discount decreasing. I like Neils' style of investing, sooner or later this will come good big time.
The last insider buying on this appears to be May 2017 (now at a large loss). Tells just about everything you want to know about this 'investment'? Hands up all those who have held on for years and seen nothing. Patience is a virtue but this guys assumes his investors are all saints.
What do you mean too large? I think it is very fair considering that some of his investments are now pretty much worthless ie RM2 ? Yes he has had some positive ones but most of them are money loosing businesses !!!
Is closing in on a 25% or 20p gap - that is too large.
SnS...... Now there's a thought, the trackers. I thought I read about a15% gap in its price v sum-of-parts in some newspaper or publication aimed at PIs and presumed that had caused the twitch upwards.
Re-entry into the FTSE 250 that;s why. In May - when it was ejected from the index - 5% of its shares were sold off by tracker funds. This process is now reversing itself.
Any particular reason for today’s rise - can’t find any specific news? Cheers
soon be back where i bought in, He maybe right after all.
Sorry showed on Google for a while. Don't know why.....
You're right up 12% in the last few minutes. Good call!
This is going to zoom next 2 months IMHO
Back in April I posted on here [at this price, I think it was about .77, this has got to be worth a punt] Unfortunately I forgot to put IMHO and the post was deleted! Anyway I am now showing a 14% increase!
Keep the Faith people its looking good! IMHO
GLA
Back to 100. Just need investor confidence to push price higher now
Just need two more to shine
Agree bestintown WPCT will be a big price in a couple of years. I see some of these fledgling companies finding new health/technology/discoveries and going to market with massive values/sp. You will always get failures but if you back a company like this you expect it. It's not for everyone but if you believe in this type of investment these are very exiting times. GLA to you and others who share the faith in Woodford investments.
Today's revaluation of Industrial Heat that added 8p to NAV is exactly why I stay invested in WPCT. Over time there will be big winners that will validate the investment rationale and strategy of WPCT.
https://www.trustnet.com/news/819627/keep-the-faith-with-woodford-patient-capital-say-experts Now that there have been a few unquoted companies coming to the market to get listed we can see how this Trust is supposed to perform.
