Not that I can see but the AGM was yesterday and " Wey Education is holding a private investor briefing this evening. No new financial information will be given at the meeting but it will include discussion items on the background to the recent placing, the proposed use of funds, current marketing initiatives, the Company's ambitions in using Artificial Intelligence and general overview of the market. All places for the presentation have now been filled." maybe someone came home and is dropping out.
just went fashionable over the holidays, hold on
Hi MatthewC, Just looking at these so not holding yet but like the business model. Would normally agree about the valuation but if these grow at the forecast rates then an eps of 1.95p for 2019 (16 months to their FY end) puts this on a forward PE of only 19, but they appear to have improving margins and exceed forecasts so 2.5p eps (only quick calls) could be possible, that’s a very low rating of 15 for such growth, the PEG would be phenomenally low (below 0.1) and personally would completely ignore the PE rating given the exceptional earnings growth potential. This would be a punt for me if I dipped my toe but the potential is there and the current rating will be just a distant memory.........that actually reflected diddly squat, go for PEG. Will keep watching and waiting for a bit of a dip (no offence holders). Good luck DD
Ah, I see, so in Nov 2019, if all goes according to plan, this stock will have a reduced PE of 23?. No wonder everyone is so excited!!
I think it is because they have only just turned profitable. Stokopedia shows a net profit of only £18,000 for 2017 with estimated net profits rising to £760k for 2018 and @£2m for 2019.
This share is on a PE of 1425. Even adding back in some exceptional items this is an incrediby high valuation. It is not a technolgy stock. Add in say 70% increase in revenue next year and the valuation is still stretched. Anyone out there able to justify this SP?
All require the A level student to be able to conduct experiments. How does Wey handle this especially with regard to overseas students.
WEY seem to be the very definition of volatile. Nearly back to where we were before the placing. Thought there would be more selling not buying. Not that I am complaining.
very good stock...
That was exactly my point. Those IIs are going to want to take profit before the price rise reverses, which it has to. Not necessarily bad news, though. Will give people a chance to get in here in the mid-20s or average down.
In November the Institutions picked up 5 million at 22p. The SP bid at present is 33p. Thats 50% profit in a month. Dont expect the SP to rise much over the next few months, every time it rises the Institutions will take their profits.
No wonder Gervais has such top performing funds. He seems to buy into share and then pick up more through placings at heavy discounts.( Also see Cerillion). A lot of the performance come from the discounts. Probably better to hold his funds rather than the constituents, that way you get the share of the discounts he`s getting. By holding the share, you get shafted.
I see thah the placing price is 22p. Once again the small investor has been shafted. What is the incentive for a small investor to get involved. Every time an acquisition comes along there will be another placing with a substantial discount to the SP. The institutions will pile in and the small investor will pay for it. Not a share worth investing in at present - unless you are an Institution- or a Director!!.
people have got to remember that the IIs and others who bought into the placement were on an instant 40%+ profit.
Teach49, the name of the company being acquired has not been revealed. It’s simply referred to as “target”. I’m sure it will soon be completed and then we will know.
Who is the education compamy Wey is looking to buy?
There is a blog post on WEY Education available here: hTTps://www.sharesoc.org/blog/company-news/abcam-agm-cambridge-cognition-ultra-electronics-wey-education-idox/
so should have bought at 25 when I saw it last week :(
There is definitely some significant interest in this share by looking at the amount of buys, they are not small change or punt money I would assume. This seems to have a good long term prospect by looking at the credentials of the company.
I bought in here yesterday, was in this earlier in the year...should have just stayed put, but hey ho! There have been some decent buys this morning, renewed interest as the financials are looking far better now. Very quiet on this board (which is no bad thing), but surprised it is considering the growth in the share price over this year. GLA Long term hold now!
Managed to get a few this morning, should see a good rise as Paul Scott has added them to his BMUS portfolio. This is usually a good sign as he knows his stuff and has a big following.
Just got in this morning, so much potential! Would be thankful if someone could explain the previous rise to 25p. It seems that if we break it, the new trend will begin. GLA
No rush... will be a slow and steady rise imo... one to buy and hold not going to do 100% in a day ;)
It will not let me buy!
gone from loss into profit with lots of very bullish statements... one to watch imo... for a long term hold.
